E-commerce Growth 2017 in Sweden

When E-barometern (in Swedish) for 2017 was presented in February, we could see that the high expectations for growth was met. During the year, the growth was 16 %, just below the prognosis. If this continues, the e-commerce sales will be doubled in 5 years.

Now, e-commerce in Sweden I 8.7 % of the total retail sales. The prognosis for 2018 is a growth of 15 %, a growth of 10 billion SEK to 77 billion SEK.

Food sales is getting more mature, every tenth consumer described in 2017 that they have ordered food a regular month, compared to 4 % in 2016.

Demands and expectations are increasing among consumers. During last yeas the customers described that they want to see more customers reviews. The number that shops with mobile units continue to grow, and also the demand for mobile adapted sites. 38 % of the e-consumers have ordered one or more times with their mobile unit during the last month. An increase of 8 percent units since the year before.
