Upgrade of the Litium platform to strengthen Nordic Waterproofing's digital presence

One of 3bits’ newer customer collaborations is with Nordic Waterproofing, where several projects have replaced each other during the year. One of the latter is to upgrade the Litium platform to 8.12 to keep the site on an up-to-date version and take advantage of the opportunities that the update offers.

Nordic Waterproofing is the market leader in the Nordic waterproofing market, which is sold and marketed through the two brands Trebolit and Mataki.

The group develops, manufactures and sells a complete range of products and solutions for the protection of buildings and infrastructure. Fundamental to the offer are energy and environment saving products that are easy to install.Trebolit

Faster search with the new version

After 3bits took over as a partner for Nordic Waterproofing, various projects were carried out to strengthen the position in the digital market. Commercially, a simplified e-commerce for both channels was prioritized and launched in June, shortly after the takeover.

One of the priority areas was to update the e-commerce platform Litium to the current version.

It is important to understand which adaptations, special solutions and integrations are available in the current solution. Some needed tweaking and recoding to be compatible with Litium 8.

The takeover and upgrade have gone very smoothly. 3bits’ project team is very dedicated and has great business understanding, says C-G Hanson, Digital Project Manager at Nordic Waterproofing.

Nordic Waterproofing's solution does not have as many major customizations compared to the Accelerator, but many smaller ones. The Sales part in Litium was rewritten between version 7 and 8, so in the project everything related to orders, payment and delivery had to be reviewed. Nordic Waterproofing also did not use Elasticsearch in its previous version, so some work was done to take advantage of the new significantly faster search.

During development, an executable site of the previous version was kept to be able to check that the functionality was the same, which was very valuable both in the development and testing phase.

New design the next step in the collaboration

The latest update will further strengthen Nordic Waterproofing's digital presence and customer experience, for both trebolit.se and mataki.se.

We are at the end of the work to launch new versions for both Trebolit and Mataki. In 2024, we plan to rebuild the PIM module and to launch an additional channel in the platform, says C-G Hanson.
